What the site does not do

There are no accounts, logins, profiles, comments, or payments. The site sets no cookies of its own. No advertising, retargeting, session replay, heat maps, fingerprinting, or profiling tools are used, and none are planned. The site does not ask you to describe your situation anywhere.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Hostinger. Like any web server, it records standard request logs: the address your connection comes from, the page requested, the time, and the browser type. These logs exist for security and to keep the service running. They are kept according to the hosting provider’s standard settings; no additional logging has been configured by us.

When you search, the words you type are sent to the site’s own server to return results and are not stored beyond the standard server logs described above.

Storage in your own browser

The framework walk-through lets you write answers to reflection prompts. Those answers are saved in your own browser’s local storage, only if you type them, and are never sent to us. You can clear them from the page with the “Clear answers” control or by clearing your browser data. Nothing else on the site uses local storage.

YouTube

Episode videos are embedded from YouTube using its privacy-enhanced domain, and the player loads only after you choose to play. Before that, an episode page with a published video loads a thumbnail image from YouTube’s image servers, which means YouTube receives a standard image request from your browser. After you press play, YouTube’s privacy policy governs the player. A “Watch on YouTube” link is always available.

Fonts

Typefaces are bundled with the site at build time and served from this site, so no request goes to a font provider when you visit.

Analytics

No analytics runs at present. If analytics is added later, it will be a privacy-conscious, cookieless tool where possible, its data flow will be documented, this page will be updated before it goes live, and consent will be asked where the law requires it.

Forms and email

No newsletter or suggestion form is active. If one is enabled later, it will say plainly what it collects, require your consent, allow you to unsubscribe, and be described here first. Downloads never require an email address, and downloading never subscribes you to anything.

Third parties

The only third parties that can receive anything from your visit are the hosting provider (server logs) and YouTube (thumbnail and, if you press play, the player). There are no others.

Children

This site is for adults. Material about parenting and education is written for parents. The site does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 and does not invite children to contact us.

Your choices

You can use the whole site without playing a video, without typing in the walk-through, and without submitting anything. To remove walk-through answers, use the clear control on the page or clear your browser’s site data.

Changes

The version and dates at the top of this page change whenever the practice changes. Earlier versions are kept in the site’s source history.
