Parents & Children
What should my child study?
You are being asked for a plan by someone you love, and the honest answer is that you cannot see far enough to give one. This question is about what a parent can honestly offer when prediction is off the table.
A first orientation
The question usually hides a different one: how do I protect my child from what I am afraid of? Naming that helps, because protection through prediction is not on offer to anyone right now.
What remains on offer is teaching a child how judgment is formed, how to check a result, and how to stay curious after being wrong. Those do not depend on guessing the labor market correctly.

Why do I feel permanently behind?
You read more than you used to. You follow the releases. You still feel further behind each month. That is not a discipline problem. It is what happens when information is mistaken for orientation.

How do I adapt when the target keeps moving?
Every piece of advice says adapt. Almost none of it says to what. When the thing you would adapt to changes every few months, adaptation as a strategy needs a different definition.
